Behind the Camera...

It's been a wonderful journey since I picked up my first camera and started snapping away at the age of 12. Of course a lot has changed since then. I've felt a reinvention of style and found inspiration in the people and surroundings around me. As I continue to delve deeper into this art, I've learned more about the beauty and complexity of life.

There's no doubt that this art is my passion and my outlet. I hope that what you find here is a familiar smile, a treasured hug, an excited leap of joy, an unwavering gaze, or even an intimate moment between a photographer and her subject.

Rosanna + Frank’s E-Session

It forecasted rain the whole week. “The weather reports saying it will rain on Saturday.” Rosanna messaged me. “Perfect! Nice even lighting!” I said. We were going to go to a beach at The Pinery but the plans changed. The weather guy was right… for once. It rained early in the morning all the way till we met up. Even on our long drive it was still raining cats and dogs (and where on earth did this saying come from anyway?). Call it quits? NO! We went to Plan B. We got off the highway at Halton and found our way to Glen Eden with ski slopes and cliffs. So you may not know this, but for as long as I’ve known Rosanna, she has had a fond preoocupation with climbing hills. She’s modelled for me for a few years. And she’s made me climb up many rocky cliffs to get those pictures! Good times, good times. And I’m still alive to tell it! Trust me, she was racing on the edge of the cliffs at one point at our e-shoot that day.

But enough of our high-jinx filled adventures. Let’s get back to the shoot itself. When we finally made the decision to go to Halton, the rain subsided and gave us THE perfect lighting. But I’d have to say what really MADE the day perfect was Rosanna’s Wellies. I, thinking that we were going to go to a beach, wore black (slippery) sandals that were not very friendly to me while we hiked up the hill. It was worth it though. Her Wellies really gave the shoot personality so she even wore them for the second change of clothes! Fancy dancy… so very Brit of her. Just in case if you’re wondering, she did spend a few of her teen years in the UK.

As for Frank? He’s such a laid-back guy and so easy going. The change in plans went so well because he was so helpful in giving suggestions on where to go instead. I’m sure it didn’t hurt having such lovely eye-candy in his arms. He had some hesitations prior to us meeting up. I don’t think I saw any unwillingless at all when I started clicking away.

We ended the day with some much needed food at Walkers and a few drinks. Best fish I’ve had in years! I highly recommend their Nova Scotia Clam Chowder. I always had a thing for soups. Yes, Campbell’s was my friend growing up… A rainy day and clam chowda’, me loves that.

I’ll end it with my faves. Genuine joy and love.
